2026 Santa Clara Law Review Symposium

“The Changing Landscape of Constitutional Interpretation and Its Impact on Immigration Law, Reproductive Rights, and Education Law”

This year’s Symposium will delve into recent shifts in Constitutional interpretation and stare decisis, addressing broader challenges of governance at the federal level and their impact on the states. Currently, Constitutional interpretation is a topical discussion in the legal field and society. Santa Clara Law Review aims to create a respectful space where attendees can hear from legal experts who will critically analyze the arguments presented in each panel and offer their perspectives.

We have secured highly respected legal scholars and practitioners to share their insights, making this an incredible

chance to engage with thought leaders in the field. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, along with the opportunity to network with respected legal professionals who have expertise in the panel topics below!

Event Panels:
Panel 1: Immigration: This discussion will focus on the upcoming Supreme Court case concerning birthright citizenship and President Trump’s executive order on the matter.
Panel 2: Reproductive Rights: This session will explore contraception rights, policy considerations, and the future of Constitutional rights concerning reproductive freedom in light of relevant Supreme Court decisions in Geduldig
Dobbs, and Skrmetti.
Panel 3: Education Law: This panel will focus on Mahmoud v. Taylor, the recent Supreme Court decision, and how freedom of religion, the establishment clause, and parental rights should be interpreted in the context of public schools.
